002POSTURE / HOW WE WORK

Four non-negotiables.

The method runs on a few things we will not bend on. These are the rules that hold across every project, every engagement, every team configuration.

  1. §01

    Discovery never ends.

    Strategy is not a phase we leave behind. A well-run opening is load-bearing through design and into production.

  2. §02

    Engineering is a design tool.

    We do not hand off to builders. The people designing the system are building it, so the standard of craft holds all the way to production.

  3. §03

    The creative brief is the contract.

    Every decision is measured against it. If an idea does not serve the brief, it does not ship, no matter how pretty.

  4. §04

    We design for ownership.

    The work is not finished at launch. It is finished when the team can run it, extend it, and make it theirs without us in the room.

003PHASE I / DISCOVER

Discover. Know what we do not yet know.

The initial stage of a project is the most important. We immerse in the history, culture, and ethos of the work. We listen first, to founders, teams, audiences, the room. We treat discovery as systematic problem-solving with criteria and constraints, because a well-run opening makes the rest of the project possible.

004PHASE II / DEFINE
II
DURATION
2 to 4 weeks

Define. Properly define the problem.

Through brand exercises, user research, and cross-team collaboration, we develop ideas and pathways that make the company's message loud and clear. We sketch, wireframe, and prototype quickly, then iterate on the strongest ideas. The brand becomes a small set of decisions the rest of the work can be measured against.

005PHASE III / DESIGN

DURATION
4 to 8 weeks

Design. Transform strategy into form.

The visual direction is guided, not invented. Color, typography, image, and motion are in service of the position set in Phase II. We present a small number of distinct directions, refine the chosen one, then build it out into a comprehensive system. Every choice is intentional and every choice is defensible.

Develop. Implement the designed vision.

We do not just create a beautiful design. We develop solutions that function beautifully. We treat engineering as a design tool, with the same standard of craft as the rest of the work. Development is where all of the phases converge, and where the brand is put to work in the real world.
