Dan’s Headspace

Interning with the Workhorse team this summer has been an awesome experience. As a design and printmaking student at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) entering my senior year, my focus has been on identity systems, typography, publication design, and illustration. I’ve learned a lot this summer with Workhorse and am excited to incorporate new skills into my studies.

Since moving to Baltimore, I’ve developed a productive freelance career. I’ve worked on a range of projects throughout the East Coast and thought I’d share some of my favorites since moving and joining Workhorse.

After graduation, I’m looking forward to finding a job where I am continuing to learn design processes and can be actively involved in decision making on projects. I’d also like to find an agency that aligns with my ethics. Some of the firms that inspire me are:

Commercial studios
Turner Duckworth
Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv

I don’t want to forget about my printmaking and illustration roots. I’d love to learn more from a printmaking studio and how to incorporate those skills into my work. Everyone has their own creative process in the print world and I’d like to develop a process of my own. Here are a few print studios that inspire me:

Second State Press
Studio Two Three
Du Good Press

Thanks for reading and checking out some of the things I do and like. Feel free to say “hi” on Instagram or shoot me an email. I’d love to chat.
