If you know us, you know our studio speakers always on. We even have a dedicated slack channel just for sharing the music we’re into. So, yeah— music is a huge part of our culture here at Workhorse. While we are definite devotees of well-crafted playlists, we also love being able to dig into one album from start to finish. And what a year it’s been for new albums! From brand new artists to long-time favorites bringing back the magic, a few of us have got long-running lists of our favorite new releases. For your purposes, we’ve trimmed them down as best we could (it was painful) and shared here for posterity. Check out our lists below, and hop on our playlist above for the highlights from each. Happy listening, y’all!

2017 was another great year for rap and r&b. It’s an interesting time for the genre—Soundcloud rappers are treated like they’re rock stars and west coast acts like Kendrick Lamar, which in the past would be considered “gangster rap,” are acclaimed in the mainstream like it’s god damn prestige television. What a time to be alive.

Can’t stop, won’t stop. Each of these albums has been on hard repeat since their release. Sorry to everyone that’s given me control of their aux chord, but also, not sorry.

Selections: Fall 2017
Latest selects from our studio speakers. This fall was a mix of lots of new and a little old— all respect due to the late, great Tom Petty. We especially loved new releases from Madeline Kenney, Beach Fossils, and Moses Sumney. Get into it, and stay tuned for new selections each

3D & Dimensional Design
Last month, we shared a little of our favorite 3D design inspiration in our most recent mood— and now we’re back with a little 3D work of our own. We’ve explored working with 3D design both with our work for ourselves and our work with clients: here’s a little highlight reel of s

Selections: Workhorse Loves You
A collection of our favorite love tunes, in honor of our favorite #HallmarkHoliday. Because St. Valentine would want to be lovingly surprised by a bunch of hidden repeats of Careless Whisper.

Selections: Yay Area, A Black Panther Tribute Mix
If you’re looking for us, you can find us all the way on this Black Panther bandwagon. This playlist is a lil nod to Black Panther’s antihero/villain Erik Killmonger, who spends his formative years in Oakland. It’s about three solid hours of our Bay Area favorites— enjoy! #YayAre
