work we like: headspace.

headspace’s mission statement reads -   headspace’s mission statement reads – “our simple idea is to teach the world to meditate, so that everyone can live a happier, healthier, more enjoyable life.” this resonates with us on so many levels– especially in the way we relate to the work we do. our goal is to empower businesses to find their their distinct story, and communicate it through their brand. there is a meditation in that– the mindful process of exploring your mission and goals and creating a mantra around those ideas that resonates both with you, and with the people around you. headspace has taken on the very busy spaces of health/wellness, personal development, meditation, and science– and boiled them down to a simple core philosophy of practice. all you need is a smartphone and a pair of headphones, and you can plug into headspace’s range of different meditation sessions for a quick 10 minutes of you time. headspace does an especially great job of catering their practice to people at any level, especially first-timers. okay, seriously – where do we sign up?

one feature we especially love about headspace, apart from founder Andy Puddicombe’s super relaxing voice, is the way they visualize their brand with playful graphics. their use of dynamic patterns and illustrations are cohesive, yet slightly unexpected. they gambled on a design style that doesn’t follow the stereotypical calming, neutral tones you might expect from a meditation and mindfulness resource. but, they’ve owned it and made it work. their visuals are not only consistent across all channels, but they’re accessible to yogis and non-yogis alike.

do yourselves a favor and download the app – it’s free. there’s a lot of learning, sharing, and growing to be done, and the folks over at Headspace have a lot of love to give.
