leap years feel exciting – plenty of events only happen once every four years, but few others feel as special as a leap year. like a secret gift from something otherwise indelible (i.e. the calendar), the leap year always seems to sneak up on and surprise us.

despite the excitement, leap years are actually about balance. a complete orbit of the earth around the sun takes 365.2422 days, so we add in a leap year to balance our calendar. this seeking of balance really resonates with us here at decent. its one of our favorite design principles, a key component of any good media mix, and, lets be real, something we strive for in our personal lives.
